I really enjoyed this podcast.
And while I tweeted it, 140 characters is just not enough for me sometimes!
16 Candles feels disjointed because the movie was supposed to end with Molly Ringwald ending up with Duckie, not the cool guy. BUT Molly Ringwald didn’t like that ending and made John Hughes change it. Silly Molly Ringwald.
Thanks, Sarah!
That’s an interesting bit of trivia regarding Sixteen Candles, though it never felt disjointed to me. If anything, it made the ending a little bittersweet, and teen movies, as well as rom-coms, tend to err on the side of sugary sweet so it’s actually refreshing!
